Re: Flop a set, now what?
I would bet around 7.50 and call a shove.

Oh yeah, and anything I did wrong before the big move is useful to hear too.

Oh I didn't see your stack size, guess there's not much to do but shove here. pretty standard IMO

Re: Flop a set, now what?
He only has slightly more than a pot-sized bet remaining, is villain really more likely to call 7.50 than a shove? If he does call 7.50 he's pretty much committed anyway. If the point of a smaller bet is to increase your chances of being called or shoved against, then i'd say $3-4 might be better. I think there's more chance that a hand that folds to a shove calls or bluff-raises against a $3 bet than against $7.50.
Edit: i'm too late Edit Edit: I mostly just shove, but against bluffy aggro opponents I might try a small bet. |

Re: Flop a set, now what?
Since I'm now confident in my playing that hand, I can tell you the guy was holding 6/5, and I got stacked off. Beats, brags, and variance, I guess.

Arent you giving over analyzing at these levels? I think that at these micro stakes you should just try to maximze money rahter than trying to out think opponents. |

Re: Flop a set, now what?
over-analyze? me? surely you jest. FWIW, I'd only not-shove with some specific read, that's what I was trying to say. Shoving is good.
What I really meant, in handy diagram form, is: Shoving > FPS small bet > 7.50 |

Make sure you are 100% full stack at all times?

Re: Flop a set, now what?
I tend to. This was a hand on Sportbook, and I'm moving from them to PokerStars, so I took out most of my money, but left in the extra 14.96 that made an uneven amount. I just decided to play it out, and this is where it went.
But yes, once I get my epassporte up and am on PS, I'll make sure I stay stacked up. |
