Re: WYNN\'S A LOSER - China
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It makes me vomit that I bought WYNN at 35 and thought I was doing good by selling at 70. [/ QUOTE ] I almost bought Wynn during the summer after hearing countless stories in the pooker room of people droping six figures in blackjack.. Bob Safai was one of these story tellers. Would have made a quickl 20-30% profit. DOH! [/ QUOTE ] HOT TIP! |

Re: WYNN\'S A LOSER - China
Today it closed at 150. I did'nt realize it had gotten so high, but don't feel bad.
I bought Qualcom in 98' at 45 and quickly sold at 65. In 2000 it had a stock split adjusted price of 800. |

Re: WYNN\'S A LOSER - China
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If it really is just shifting money from one casino to another and not attracting the number of new gamblers they had predicted then it will be in trouble because of the financing arrangements. If they don't hit their expected returns then they will have trouble paying back the interest on the notes. The investors will not want to use other means to pay this back. [/ QUOTE ] So investors would rather get no money than money from a different casino? Investors are weird! [/ QUOTE ] Smart investors try not to throw more money into a foundering investment. I'm not saying this is the case here, just pointing out that not hitting stated targets has repercussions. Bonds get lower ratings, which means the investments are are worth less. Lower rating means higher interest rates on the notes. It all can add up and snowball very quickly. |

Re: WYNN\'S A LOSER - China
I actually miscalculated. I sold QCOM at 65 on 1-20-99.
QCOM split 2:1 5-11-99, then split 4:1 12-31-99, so I would have had 8 shares for every 1. And when QCOM hit its all time high 1-3-2000 at $200 every $65 share I sold was worth $1600. Oh well, wont even get into the fact I had alot of MSFT in 1986 for a few months. |
