Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
I feel like there is no good line here.
If we fold we are missing value from KQ, possible QQ and JJ. If we raise nothing we beat is coming to town. If we call the turn really wont affect much. Ideas? |

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
Tough one.
I think your line must be strongly dependent on your read. If he is capable of second level thinking, he might be trying to see if you really have the king or if you are just c-betting. If he would play a small pocket pair in this way preflop (seems like an odd line to me), I might consider laying it down. However, most of the time, I'm just going to go ahead and shove. All that beats us are a set or AA (which he strangely slowplayed preflop). The shove might get him to fold his AK if he puts us on AA. |

I dont think a 30/12 is folding AK here,
but other then that i pretty much agree with everything you said. Its mainly scarey because of the deepness. |

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
I agree with Vegas that this is a pretty strange line for villain to be taking if he had AA, 33, or 55 (though I know some players will play atc when the stacks are deep in hopes of scoring big time).
The line looks more like a QQ/JJ seeing if you have a king OR something like KcQc looking to build a pot/semi-bluff with top pair and the club draw. I think calling the flop and shoving a blank turn is scarier from villain's perspective, and might get a non-suited KQ to come along if he puts you on a club draw. |

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
I really don't like the idea of going to the felt deep stacked with TPTK. I guess I'm a wuzz...
At this point I'd call and reevaluate turn. If this guy has a reasonable WSD I'd bluff another c. If he bets more then 1/3 pot on a blank turn I fold. Tough spot, I really would try to go to a cheap showdown... |

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
The villain has 46% of his stack in the middle on the flop. I don't think you are getting a cheap showdown. I also think villains don't call 3bets with KQ unless they are teh suck. I think the wisest thing to do on this flop is fold. I think you are up against a monster

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
It really sucks but TPTK is probably no good here.
Its a small pot hand and your not heading for a small pot with this hand. |

Re: NL 50 Deep: AK 3 betted PF
I don't see how we can RR to $10 preflop, hit a K on a pretty ragged board, make a big bet on the flop, and then fold to a min-check raise. Yes, top pair is a small pot hand, but we've already committed to playing a big pot with our actions preflop and on the flop.
I think we have to shove here and hope for the best. The only realistic hands that beat us are AA, KK, 55, and 33. If he has one of those hands, good for him, but I don't think he does. If I had to guess I would say he has AK or he's a donk with KQ. |
