AK top two against a reg 25nl
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
SB: $31.40 BB: $48.15 <--Main villain UTG: $29.45 CO: $26.25 <--Loose generally bad player Hero (BTN): $30.55 Reads: Villain is 21/13/3.2 over ~400 hands. Villain is decent, semi-straightforward and probably winning player. The only notes I have are reminding me of a 100 hand stretch against him where I was running very hot and 3 betting and raising him every other hand and I suspected he was getting angry at me. This stretch happened a few weeks ago. Fwiw, if he had a habit of donking into me then I would have notes on it. Since I don't have these notes, then it is a move he rarely or has never done against me. I would guess he views me as solid, but he might think I am over aggressive due to our past. Thoughts on all streets welcome. Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG folds, CO calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.25, SB folds, BB calls $1.00, CO calls $1.00 Flop: ($3.85) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players) BB bets $2.00, CO calls $2.00, Hero raises to $9.00, BB calls $7.00, CO folds Turn: ($23.85) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero checks River: ($23.85) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets $22.00, Hero folds Pot Size: $45.85 ($1.15 Rake) |

Re: AK top two against a reg 25nl
If you think he's donking with a huge hand why do you raise?
As played I'm snap calling that river, breaking my mouse in the process. |

Re: AK top two against a reg 25nl
Your mistake is raising the flop imo. You'll lose most hands you beat that way. The board is quite dry. You're WA/WB here. Call the flop. His range should be TP/set. He won't bluff into 2 players this way esp. not against a pfr and a loose caller.
If checked to on this turn I'd check behind hu with vill but bet it with CO around, checking would miss too much value from him imo. Your river is really tough. The turn check was weak so he could do this with more than sets. maybe even A3/A5/AQ. Guess you're getting a good price here. I call it. |

If you think he's donking with a huge hand why do you raise? [/ QUOTE ] When BB originally bet, I put his range at Axs-AK, 33 and 55. When CO calls his range is huge: Any ace, any pair, any sd draw with a pair. I raise because I really wanted to be heads-up with CO. But when BB calls my flop raise, I narrow his range to AQ, AK, 33, 55 and maybe AJ. And I think AJ is kinda optimistic. I am not sure I like the flop raise either, but if I don't raise, I let BB draw and possibly miss a lot of value from him. |

Re: AK top two against a reg 25nl
I think this hand is fine, I don't think you are ahead of BB ever here. Its quite OBV the BB has a set and is going for the standard stack-a-donk line.
Where he leads flop and check raises AI on the turn. |
