Re: .02/.04 LHE: 17 Hand Review
Posting 17 hands is a sure fire way to get some kind of attention. On the other hand, that's because it's usually considered rude round these parts. But I haven't been here for a while. Maybe, just maybe. They've increased their tolerances while I was away, but I'd consider that a -EV bet.
Also, Having said that, I have decided to critique hand number 13. My instinct is to fold PF. the hand is a mite crap and there's little money in the pot. Like I said, I've been away, but I don't feel too rusty on this one. |

Re: .02/.04 LHE: 17 Hand Review
i dont know how else to get a quick critique of my overall session. is dwelling over 1 or 2 hands a day the standard norm here?
i dont mind getting constantly corrected over whats the standard here, what the rules are, proper etiquette, but please please PLEASE some give me some feedback on any of these hands. please give me some loose feedback on the overall session and how u think i played the hands zeldark, i thought there were two interesting situations there with kings and aces, and i'm surprised u had no comment on either |

Re: .02/.04 LHE: 17 Hand Review
I picked 13 because it's my favorite number.
It's better to post 17 hands in one thread than 1 hand in 17 threads. It's just the more hands you have the more convoluted it gets and the interest tends to fade as there is no end in sight. Also, there are session reviews, where people will look at a whopping 200ish hands for you, more if you ask nicely sometimes. You can also PM people nicely, or remember what hands you want critiqued and post them over the course of the week or something. Edit: Also, as you may have noticed, you will get responses. But you are less likely to get thorough responses with 17 hands than 1. |

i was down 25 BB this session playing for about 2 hours, it was pretty frustrating |

Too many hands. Didn't read. Isn't there something in the FAQ about this? You read the FAQ right?

Re: .02/.04 LHE: 17 Hand Review
Julio,
In general your way to passive and it doesn't look like you have a great understanding of the game. Have you read small stakes hold em by Ed Miller? If not buy the book before you get poker tracker it will be money well spent. The problem with posting this many hands is it will not generate the discussion needed on each hand. FWIW most of the hands in this post are worthy of their own thread. Of the 17 hands I would only have played 3 of them the same as you. |

The pot is laying you 12-to-1 if you call now, and you have 11 cards that will improve your hand. There is more than enough in there to call that turn, and most of those 11 outs will be pretty clean (spade might not be so good and J might complete a straight for 88 or A8). But regardless, call is correct there. #2-#17 - maybe later |

I agree with some streets and disagree with others and there are a few that I consider close.

Re: .02/.04 LHE: 17 Hand Review
hand 1 - call the turn
hand 2 - bet the flop, bet the turn, bet the river hand 3 - bet the flop, turn and river are fine as played hand 4 - meh i wouldnt fault a flop fold but its not a big deal, probly fine hand 5 - fold the flop hand 6 - this is fine. i expect TT a lot but you definitely have the odds to call down. hand 7 - great hand 8 - call the turn + river hand 9 - raise/fold preflop, leaning heavily towards a fold. bet the flop. as played turn is fine. betting the river as played probly has higher value than checking hand 10 - raising preflop sometimes is fine but not mandatory. checking your option is definitely standard. postflop play is all perfect hand 11 - raise preflop some times. the rest is probly fine. i expect tards at this level to be c/r that river often, and when they arent they are often folding so there isnt much value in a bet. hand 12 - crying call. nh. hand 13 - bet the flop. turn is fine. (also preflop is fine but folding is ok too, as above) hand 14 - 3bet the flop and reevaluate. as played turn is probly correct, even tho you probly have 4 outs and your hand is underrepped to [censored].... hand 15 - absolutely ridic terrible river play. why even post it? i dont know if you can call the river or if you should just let it go. that 6 hits a lot of the hands you were hoping he had. i dont think i would heavily fault either. hand 16 - raise preflop most of the time. call the flop some of the time. turn and river are perfect. hand 17 - i think i prefer just betting *this* turn card (this is one of the worst turn cards for you). opening yourself up to a 3bet here is pretty scary. that said its not bad play by a longshot.... overall - your flop play is a big leak imo. you seem aggressive with your monsters, which is good, but you dont balance that by also being aggro with draws. this will make you readable as you move up limits. |
