Top pair with QT getting c/r on the flop 150bb
I hold Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in a 1-2 game, 300 stacks
Villian seems decent, aggro preflop and have c/r me on the flop a couple of times. I still get the feeling he needs a hand here and he is not the type who fires 2nd and 3rd barrels with air/continues bluffing with air. I have the button and pot it preflop, villian calls Flop Q 9 7 with a heartdraw Check, I bet 8, he c/r me to 28, I call Turn Q 9 7 Q, double flushdraw He bets 50 with 216 behind I find it hard to explain HU hands like this but at the time my feeling was that I often have the best hand but if the money goes in now Im never gonna get called by worse. But calling also feels wrong because of the board. Im 100% sure we can rule out AA/KK from his range here. Dont think he shows up with AQ either, maybe maybe KQ Thoughts? |

Re: Top pair with QT getting c/r on the flop 150bb
You are giving him the opportunity to bluff off his stack when a scare card hits on the river if you just flat call. If you read him as that aggro flat call and evaluate the river but i'm not nec going to fold to a push here when the third flush card comes.
On the other hand a good player could see your flat call as strength and check the river to you which basically accomplishes the same purpose of pushing him out of the hand on the turn. |
