Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
Is it too early to start hoping for the D-backs as our NLDS opponent?

Overcoming the Smoltz outing, taking the lead in the 10th, 2 out, nobody on, losing the game. LOL brutal. I'd probably rather the D'Backs whiff on the playoffs altogether than have to deal with facing the Cubs. Not that I dislike the team, but I can't stand how many transplanted Chicagoans live here and show up for home games. Hey if you like Chicago so much why don't you move back there and stop clogging up our streets, you [censored] [censored]. I guess that's the reality of living in a city comprised almost entirely of transients and with a new franchise with no history, but it still annoys me. |

[/ QUOTE ] Mesa, AZ. As long as the Cubs get to the playoffs, I could care less who we play. No one in the NL is really dominant and everyone is kinda sliding around right now. I hope the Cubs can get in while playing hot (8-2 in their last 10 right now) and be the Cardinals of this year. |

Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
I really want San Diego so I can see first two here, and then I will see Game 4 in Chicago. Probably will have to skip Game 3 for my 20 year reunion although it's a tough call and if it's a day game I may try to do both. That week will be hard on my liver.

Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
rjoe,
"I like the Cubs and never lived in Chicago, let alone Illinois." This would be an awesome show of support except I know you're from eastern Iowa, which is where all my family is from, and since Iowa doesn't have an MLB team they have to adopt one. From experience, this gets divided 50/50 between the Cardinals and Cubs. In fact it can get fairly contentious when Cubs-Cardinals series happens. And for people trying to imply that Cubs fans in AZ aren't transplants from the Chicago area, LOL. WRONG. |
