[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] So Townsend's $1.8 mil is still the largest pot ever played next to Beal vs. the Corp? (They had some bigger ones right?) [/ QUOTE ] I've never seen any reporting on pot size, but they were playing HU limit with blinds at 50k-100k. You'd need to do some serious 3-betting for a pot to reach $1.8m, even at those limits. [/ QUOTE ] wait....what? [/ QUOTE ] yup, $10m buy in IIRC |

I did an interview with Ivey right after play wrapped up. It should be posted on the blog sometime soon.
The completely-out-of-line clapping was by the production crew because it was the largest RECORDED cash game pot in the short history of tv poker. Also, in those huge pots at Bellagio, Patrik told me they usually run in 3-4 times. |

[/ QUOTE ] yeah it was pretty brutal. several of us informed them not to do it again...but i'm sure you'll hear it on the tv broadcast. |

Well there was a 1.3 million dollar pot at the Bellagio during the 2004 WPT chapmpionship that Doyle won. The money went in on the turn when both he and Lyle Berman made broadway, but Doyle made a club flush on the river. It was one of the rare times they played the big game uncapped.

I was going to save this for my blog but thought I would just share with you here:
I just had lunch with an impeccably reliable friend who had talked to the dealer from the Gutshot club who dealt this game. He told me that the prop bets were so large that they influenced the action. So, for example Ivey would avoid playing two hearts if he had a bet on a certain colour flop. And the total amount Ivey won in prop bets over the course of the game? $750,000!!! |

There's a full account of it on Sbrugby's blog, you can't access that where you are? [/ QUOTE ] I don't see where it says what the blinds were or how many people at the table. |
