Default 5/10. It seems like I\'m always going broke with overpairs lately

I feel like I have to play for stacks with overpairs on drawy boards to protect my bluffs and double barrels with mediocre hands. Obviously, that reasoning isn't working out for me lately, so here's 2 hands.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $5/$10 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $1,087.00
BB: $1,423.70
Hero (UTG): $1,000.00
MP: $1,169.00
CO: $1,299.45
BTN: $1,214.00

Reads: Villain is 32/12/2. Kind of fishy and takes strange lines.

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
Hero raises to $35.00, MP folds, CO calls $35.00, 2 folds, BB calls $25.00

Flop: ($110) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $100.00, CO calls $100.00, BB folds

Turn: ($310) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $250.00, CO raises all-in to $1,164.45

unless there is history, or you have a good read, fold to check raises on the turn.

Jfish, I assume ur reasoning is that the dude in hand 1 is very fishy. He's got a relatively low AF though. I guess its pretty close and pairs+draws are big enough part of his range though.

Hand 1 is pretty close. If you think he can play hands like AcKc,Ac3c,Ac5c,JJ etc. then it's closer to a call. If you're not so sure, I think folding is fine.

Hand 2 is a fold imo cuz villain is probably putting you on a pretty strong range at this point, so it seems like an unlikely spot for a bluff.

I would think villain would 3-bet AcKc pf. And as for Ac3c/Ac5c I tend to think he would bump it up on the flop (but who knows w/ fishies). I mean it seems strange to me that he would flat-call a draw on the flop and then put the hammer down on the turn ui. Maybe he has something like TcXc, but like I said it seems odd to play a flush draw slow on the flop and then pound (in the face of strength) the turn when the flush doesn't get there.

I agree it seems strange for those those hands to be in his range, but OP specifically said that villain "takes strange lines".
