Re: win rate
I don't think you can make 10-12 ptBB at any level higher than NL600 and only a few players who step down from higher limits.

Earlier, people overestimated what was possible. Now, I see people overstating the difficulty of low stakes games. |

Re: win rate
NLHE fullring cash games -looking for guidelines re moving up; basic conditions :
you know you have a lot to learn about NLHE and will start at NL$25 but want to move up as a challenge eventually to NL$600 if your bankroll was $12,000 using "normal" guidelines you could play $3/$6 NL ( $6 x 100 bb x 20 buyins )but of course be broke very quickly you don't have tens of thousands of hands neatly tucked away in a pokertracker database; stats on about 3,000 but playing experience is probably 15,000 hands winning/losing is only 20% about the money and 8 0% ego is the following reasonable : 1. at nl$25,nl$50 & nl$100 if win rate is at least 10PTBB/100 after 10,000 hands for each level moving up is ok ? 2. for nl$200,nl$400 8PTBB/100 moving up a level is ok ? |

[/ QUOTE ] If you wait until you are at 10bb/100 before moving up, you are missing out on a lot of money (i.e. playing $25NL at 8BB/100 instead of moving to $50NL where the games aren't much harder so your BB/100 won't go down much), and also, you'll be waiting a long time because unless you are one of the best players at that level, you will never have that rate. In the old days when it was easy for Americans to play, much better rates were possible. Not any more. Here someone makes a suggestion similar to yours. The posts from 2007 on relate to the situation in current games, http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...part=3&vc=1 For example: [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I've resolved not to move up untill I've played 10k hands and have beaten it for more than 10PTBB/100. So far I've played 2500 hands and am at 25PTBB/100 hands. [/ QUOTE ] I think you have an unrealistic expectation of long term success here. While its true that some players have 100K runs with 10 BB/100 hands, I suspect most winners over that number of hands will be 1BB-5BB/100 hands, with the 5BB/100 being really strong players.I think your streak is awesome, but don't expect >10BB/100 as a standard before moving up. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] So what kind of winrates do you guys expect in today's ssnl games? I'm still shooting for 10ptbb/100 at 200nl... and I've still got a ways to go [/ QUOTE ] running at 5ptbb/100 is pretty solid, anything over that i would consider to be crushing the game. [/ QUOTE ] These threads give guidelines for moving up based on how well you understand the game and your roll: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...e=3#Post6570513 http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...;gonew=1#UNREAD http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=7392389 |
