Re: Poker After Dark thread (Bracelet Winners - Thursday-Friday)
I don't see the big problem with Phil's laydown with AQ? Unless Doyle is bluffing, Phil would have to put Doyle all-in on what he probably assumes is a coinflip most of the time. It just isn't Phil's style to commit his entire stack preflop and with the stack sizes at the time, I think he'd even fold anything up to pocket 9s there. Doyle knows this, which is probably the reason he made this move... as someone already said, Doyle is playing the player. Doyle definitely isn't making this move against Barry or Gus. This small ball style though is why Hellmuth does well in tournaments.
The 77 hand is more questionable as what could Doyle realistically have, but again that fold fits Phil's sort of style. The 96 call seemed bad though, especially given it was T.J. |

Re: Poker After Dark thread (Bracelet Winners - Thursday-Friday)
This PAD IS AMAZING!
Hellmuth explains 1000 times: All I do is trapping them and let them bluff their chips of to me. Brunson does: Bluff Hellmuth 1000 times. Effect: Brunson <= Profit. I have to LOL when Hellmuth makes these laydowns, it is amazing. The BEST TV POKER I have ever seen so far. (And I have seen a lot). |

Phil: "i know TJ is betting any 9 of course"
T.J: "Yeah....." You can see T.J. lolling inside. + Doyle owns, hope he still plays for a couple more years. |

[/ QUOTE ] IIRC- He had like 30bbs at the time 3 handed Winner take all format Facing a raise from someone who'd been super aggr who he is unlikely to outplay in the future, especially when he's apparently terrible at short stack play. AQs is so far ahead of Doyle's range. This is never a fold and to suggest it could be is sooo ridiculous. I haven't seen someone play that exploitably bad since I played $11 sngs on party. |

Re: Poker After Dark thread (Bracelet Winners - Thursday-Friday)
I really enjoyed this tourney, probably because it was a chance to finally see TJ on PAD.
I have to ask, did anyone else notice Hellmuth having to stand up and pick his butt every 3 or 4 hands? Wtf with that? Good to see Texas Dolly get the win. |
