All of you guys complaining are still playing at Stars and everywhere else with the structure the way it is now. Youre not going to stop.

Alot of the guys who buy in short are going to stop playing if the minimum buy in gets raised. Thats all that these poker sites care about. If they raise the minimum they will have less players.

99% of them suck anyway. They win some money and then move up to higher stakes and buy in short because they are scared. Then they donate it right back. Why worry about it? How many good shortstackers are there? 4?

PS...Since the vast majority of them suck, what exactly are they ratholing? They are bleeding money. They might take it off one table but they give it right back and then some on another table. Their money is going into the poker economy, they are not taking money out of it.

IMO, as long as one stays within the site's T&Cs why should anything one does be considered unethical? If my being ethical means that I have to ensure that YOU can win...well...that's not what it means. SSers break no rules of the site. End of story.

And frankly, the decisions for 50BB aren't substantially more difficult than those for 20BB.

Given any increase in the minimum buyin, some % of bad players will simply decide that they are risking too much and will opt not to play. Is this really want you want, bad players leaving? Maybe you should also consider moving up where players respect your raises.

If a short-stacker is bad, the good players obviously profit. If he is good, good players benefit from the SS not using his skill to learn to play with larger stacks.

I've been shortstacking on and off for 4 years. Up until a few months ago, I always bought in for 20BB. I then started buying in for 40BB, and guess what? My winrate has doubled. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

I love the idea that the minimum buy in is 100BB. 50BB actually annoys me more than 20BB. Against those 20BB, you just find a hand preflop like AT and gamble with them. 50BB guys are usually nits who only play AA, then I find like TT and say: It's just 50BB and call and I am always taking the worst of it.

Fishes want to play higher stakes because it is exciting, I assume. They want to brag (I am always surprised at how fishes think, so this is just an assumption). So, instead of risking one fifth of their bankroll in one time, buying in for 20BB, now they are gonna risk their whole bankroll, buying in for 100BB. Even better, right?

Youre foolish if you think thats how it will be for the majority of them. Very very few people (even total idiots) are going to put their whole bankrolls on the table at one time.

They will just move to Full Tilt...which is why PokerStars is never going to do this full scale.

I'd rather have fish buy in for 50 instead of 20 and get rid of all the nit shortstackers that rathole.

Go to a live casino, rathole winnings and buy in again for the minimum 30 minutes later repeatedly and see what happens.
