there\'s got to be a way to make some $ here
My company is offering $10,000 referral bonuses for sending in successful resumes for sales positions (there are some conditions, the person has to get hired, has to stay 3 months, etc., but it's all on the up and up).
Seems like there's a big $$ potential here, only thing is I don't know anyone who's qualified/would want this position (there's nothing wrong with it, just a typical B2B sales position, but I don't know anyone in my circle of friends/acquaintances who would be a good fit). Looking for some suggestions on how I can exploit this opportunity. The only thing I can think of is craigslist, but that seems pretty lame and too general. Is there some targeted way of reaching people who might be interested? Obviously it's got to be something that my company hasn't already done, so Monster.com and similar services are out. There's got to be a good way to do this, but I'm drawing a blank...thanks, OOT! |

College campus nearby? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, plenty, I'm in DC, but they won't hire right out of college for this position...needs some experience. |

$10,000 for a referral bonus, wow! [/ QUOTE ] I know. But it's just for these particular sales positions. Normal bonuses are in the $2500-5000 range for most other positions. They really need to hire in sales. |

Re: there\'s got to be a way to make some $ here
Recruiters (well... their employers) regularly make this sort of money for a match. Just get out there and start calling and screening job searchers. Look on all the big resume sources, monster, careerbuilder, etc. Once you've found someone you think might be a good match for the position, refer them to the company. Repeat until you've gotten your bonus.

Re: there\'s got to be a way to make some $ here
My company pays $5,000 for this. $10,000 is great for a referral bonus.
One thing to keep in mind though- consistently bringing in crappy candidates for interviews with senior management reflects poorly on you. Don't get so obsessed with the money that you fall into this trap. |

Well, I mean, it's a pretty big company and senior management wouldn't be involved in these individual hires, but still I only want to refer people I think have a decent chance of being hired and succeeding. |
