Turn making me a pair and a draw: Do I keep betting?
Ive been raising alot preflop and the action have been pretty sick. Players felting top 2 on very draw heavy boards and chasing small FD.
Seat 1: ghettorat ($20.05) Seat 2: All LEL ($21.55) Seat 3: HaHellmuth ($23.95) Seat 4: Hero ($39.90) Seat 5: CMO4 ($40.35) Seat 6: BronBurs ($42.70) BronBurs posts the small blind of $0.10 ghettorat posts the big blind of $0.25 The button is in seat #5 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [5c 4c 6d 7h] All LEL folds HaHellmuth calls $0.25 Hero raises to $1.10 CMO4 folds BronBurs folds ghettorat calls $0.85 HaHellmuth calls $0.85 *** FLOP *** [3h 8c 9h] ghettorat checks HaHellmuth checks Hero bets $3 ghettorat calls $3 HaHellmuth folds *** TURN *** [3h 8c 9h] [4s] ghettorat checks Hero bets $9.40 I bet the turn because his gotta be drawing and my hand just got kinda strong. I figure im ahead even if I am up against a bigger draw with no pair. But do u like it? |

I like a free card on the flop.. you have an idiot wrap on a flushed board.. nothing to be too exited about.. turn bet, on a crazed, loose table, I don't like that much (but ok I guess), especially with an aggressive image, you'd get looked up a whole lot.. it really depends on how loose a player ghettorat is tho, and what you think he's holding, and what you think he would fold..
A check on turn could also induce villain to bet a marginal hand, and call your raise on river if you hit gin.. |

It's not too bad, but I like a check better.

You're too short for this to be effective. He'll call the the river super light and you don't get any extra value from playing your hand deceptively. I'd probably just check behind on the flop on this coordinated of a board and then fold to a turn lead. If you get checked into on the turn after checking the flop, you can probably fire out even if you're not representing much.

How do you figure you are ahead here? Villian could already have top pair with better redraws. I am all for being aggressive, but I am not too excited about the ass end of a wrap with a small flush draw. There are a lot of hands that the villian could have that you are WAY behind.

I like it and I 3 barrel most rivers if he checks. You will probably get him off 1 pair.

Re: Turn making me a pair and a draw: Do I keep betting?
Because his been calling the flop with very thin holdings. If his has got a pair, I think I can get him of it. If his got the likely draw maybe a small wrap or something like that, im like 60% here I think.
But I agree that checking the flop might be best. I think the real problem with my play is that betting turn might not get him to lay down a small wrap. He did seem like a player who would overvalue a draw here. |

Re: Turn making me a pair and a draw: Do I keep betting?
i like it, if he calls here he s got to call the river too if he hasnt missed a draw. so additionally to the fold equity you have here you get extra equity if you hit as the pot is bigger.
