Re: 200NL: Overs and NFD vs solid...
Thanks fellas. I didn't think he'd double c/r, but once I bet, the turn and he pushed, I was getting 2:1 on a 2:1 draw, so I pretty much was neutral ev here.
Nonetheless, me and a couple of fellow 2p2'ers were discussing this hand on AIM and they both suggested checking behind on the turn (after-the-fact we were talking), but I wasn't 100% sure. I wasn't sure on the turn bet size either, but meh, it was intended to either get a fold or a c/r here, so w/e. Thanks for the feedback fellas and here's the hand, if y'all care: Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $83.20 BB: $247.80 UTG: $234.15 MP: $195.10 Hero (CO): $302.60 BTN: $219.90 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $8.00, 2 folds, BB calls $6.00 Flop: ($17) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $12.00, BB raises to $42.00, Hero calls $30.00 Turn: ($101) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $68.00, BB raises all-in to $197.80, Hero calls $129.80 River: ($496.60) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In) Pot Size: $496.60 ($3 Rake) BB had T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (a pair of Tens) and LOST (-$247.80) Hero had A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (a pair of Aces) and WON (+$245.80) |

[ QUOTE ] Shrug, I usually 3 bet / call this. Another good line to take especially if you think he is FOS is to call and shove over his turn bet. [/ QUOTE ] Call and shove over turn bet is super sexy. [/ QUOTE ] why is getting it in on the turn a good idea? if we hit our ace or draw, the action will be gone and if we miss, our equity is much worse than on the flop. or are we doing this only to push him off a bluff/weak pair? |

Re: 200NL: Overs and NFD vs solid...
meh, the turn bet is all about FE, and I'm not sure how much we really have. Most villain's don't cr the flop and then c/f the turn, so I probably check. But then again, his AF is 8, so maybe his c/r range is wide.
Lots to think about, not sure there's a hard and fast correct answer |

Re: 200NL: Overs and NFD vs solid...
traz, don't you think it's wierd that a 'solid' villain is check/minraising a low flop unlikely to have hit a 19/15/4's opening range? I mean, I think felix cbets a lot (not sure, but from the hands I've seen of his) and I know it's fun to check/minraise bluff TAGs that cbet a lot.
Basically, we bet the turn because I really don't think he has a hand when he check minraises (should be c/r bigger or b/3b with a monster on this flop texture and villain is solid) Even if he does have a hand, people rarely double c/r (as has been said) and we have outs and equity so it's not terrible, but the real purpose of the bet is to get him off of a hand that he thinks he's bluffing with but is actually ahead (A2, A4, 45, whatever. This is actually why the 3 really sucks) I'm in the shove over turn bet camp. I think we have heaps of FE. |
