Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
[ QUOTE ]
How can they both take 8 tables whithout resizing? Only the 2x 20" can. 2x 20" 1600x1200 = 2 row of 2 tables = 4 tables (800x600 table) 1600x1200 = 2 row of 2 tables = 4 tables (800x600 table) 1x 30" 2580x1600 = 2 rows of 3 tables = 6 tables [/ QUOTE ] I believe you can turn the 30" ninety degrees to make it a 1600x2580 = 4 rows of 2 tables = 8 tables. [ QUOTE ] And btw, how can you have more pixels in 1x 30"? 30" = 2580x1600 max resolution 20" = 1600x1200 2x 20" side by side = 3200x1200 [/ QUOTE ] I could explain this two different ways. 1) Put the 20" monitors on top of each other = 1600x2400 which is less than 2580x1600 (or 1600x2580 if you prefer). 2) 2580x1600=4,128,00 > 3200x1200=3,840,000 But of course, none of this is all that relevant to the OP. Again, the pixel count is very similar...I think it all comes down to personal preference. |

Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
Bobo Fett, this discussion is funny. Obv your are right about the pixels count. I did the math thinking about poker/tables only.
I discard the 400 pixels height difference between the 2 monitors (20" and 30") because you can't put another row of tables without overlap, and its not physically possible for my eyes and neck to play with a vertical 30" monitor. In theory, for poker only, i prefer the 2x 20" because they have more pixel wide (and thats what matters, 1200 height is enough). I don't know the prices in the USA but here in Europe, 2x 20" are half the price of 1 30" monitor... for the (almost) same pixel count. English is not my first language, but i hope you understand what im trying to say. |

Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
I don't play a lot of poker at the moment, or a lot of tables. However, I <3 two monitors. It makes working with two windows at once easier, provides clearer separation of windows / programs, and generally is the way I like to roll.
But then I've never tried a 30", just 1x 24 or something so maybe I just love the extra real estate. |

If you don't like the vertical monitor idea, you definitely would want 2 - 20s. You also make a good point about the price - I had the same thought. Not only that, but two monitors is something people ease into. I upgraded my single 17" to a 20" Samsung. I liked it so much that when I saw a deal on the same monitor, I picked up another one...even though I never play more than 4 tables. I never would have picked up a 30" to add to my 20", unless I got real serious about multitabling in a hurry. As far as your English goes, it's better than my...well, any language other than English. Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
This thread would be much more helpful if people would post pictures of their setups where you can see the table count with the info if they are resized + monitor models + other info. There is the dell 30" thread that has many pictures but most of them only include the dell 30" model. I'm sure many of us like me have two samsung 204b's or similar and if requested I and many others can post a picture of my/their setup if it helps someone to choose

Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
Currently I 12 table on 2 21" monitors, I have 9 tables on screen A and 3 tables on screen B. There is no overlap on the tables.
My setup looks like this: XXX X XXX X XXX X Can I fit 12 tables on one 30" monitor with no overlap? I play on Stars so I can rezize them. Would the tables end up being a lot smaller or the same size as I have now? Could my setup look like this? XXXX XXXX XXXX |

I'm not such such a rig is even possible, but maybe a motherboard with two PCI-E X16 slots and two gfx cards with dual-link DVI could do it? |

Re: 30inch or 2 20 inch ?
Didnt read the thread, but I have a 30 and two 18s. My mother has a 30 and 2 21s. The 30 is by far the best for poker, but for just about everything else the 21s are better.
