Re: WTF hand against unknowns
Pretty [censored] spot. Put in a ton of mid pairs, and AA into a pokerstove range, and see what happens.
If that equity is good enough, then this hand is MASSIVE ev cuz people occasionally show up with like KTs here. |

Re: WTF hand against unknowns
I really don't know about these spots but it seems like im always at the wrong end of things when I do call. Up against KK,AA.
Since I don't really believe that I should be more unlucky than the rest of the forum this got me thinking. Im playing a much tighter game ( 16/13 ) than the vast majority of the guys saying "snap call". They induce these big mistakes from villains by the more loose style they are playing. Villains trying to see a flop with mid pp's and AJ,AQ are getting more frustrated with Hero's 3betting and makes the huge mistake of pushing. My game is not opened up that much and therefore im not inducing these spots in the same way. This makes this a less +EV spot for players with my playing style. It's probably still a +EV spot for me but definitely not a snap call, fist pump..yadayada Really just pointing out the obvious here but the situation is very dependant of hero's image at the time. |

Re: WTF hand against unknowns

edit: Fwiw i'm more worried utg is trapping w/ AA-KK than i ever am about the random SB. |

[ QUOTE ] Are you guys kidding about folding here? I get my money in so fast here I almost shoot blood out of my forehead. [/ QUOTE ] Who would 5-bet PF shoving 10 x raised pot on AK? To me it screams someone who doesn't want to see flop knowing overcards will hit and pair up one of the opponents.. mid pockets makes more sense.. but that doesn't mean Hero couldn't call. [/ QUOTE ] Dear winningfish, Please read more and post less, i don't like having to put people on ignore but your advice in general is slowly putting me on lifetilt. |

My coach and I discussed spots like this a lot today and this is clearly a fold. At best you are chopping. [/ QUOTE ] you need a new coach edit: seriously this is such an easy call. I see Q8s or 77-TT, wayy more often than QQ+ here. |

Re: WTF hand against unknowns
Almost the exact same situation occured for me yesterday, at NL100 though, and villain had a little less then a BI. I called and villain had KJs.....
Edit. I had been kinda active though, if you got a nitty image I guess that you can contemplate folding. Edit2. Don't even contemplate it against unknowns though, obv. |

Re: WTF hand against unknowns
he might have AA or KK, but douches that make moves like this tend also to do it with AK-AJ, and some weaker pairs, i call.
