Re: 5-10 NL 9 MAX. confused with river play.
I would definitley value raise. Just b/c a better player wouldn't pay of w/ worse doesn't mean this villain wont. Raise to perhaps $500 and fold to a push.

Re: 5-10 NL 9 MAX. confused with river play.
If he raises to $500, can he really fold to a push with $445 left? Isn't he getting about 3.4:1?

Mhe, okay... maybe don't fold against a shove, even if I think we loose like always we get good odds.

Re: 5-10 NL 9 MAX. confused with river play.
As played, call the river. I think you are right that only AK is a worse hand that might call if you raise. Of course, AK in the hands of a LAG and all the hands better than you might push if you raise. And I'd call a push if I raised the river. And since I don't want to call a push, I'd call the river. But I suspect he'd just fold if I raised since I think he has very little here most of the time and I'd like to see what it is. I think that information is worth it more than folding him out with a raise.
I'm not sure I like the call preflop. If he's 11.1 PFR then AQo is quite a bit ahead of his range. You have position on him. You don't want callers behind you. So if you don't fold preflop, then I'd reraise preflop to isolate him. You can fold if he 3-bets big. On this flop, if I'd reraised and he called, I might check behind if checked to because this LAGGY guy might very well c/r light, but donk bet the turn and river weak vs my TPTK. So, fold or raise to isolate preflop. As played, call the river. |
