Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
"I'm Lovin' It" Jaysus Christ that is the gayest slogan ever
All those Dropped Call commercials suck I'm hesitant to get into infomercials because they're all complete [censored] but that slimy porn star lookin' dude for the Dual Action Cleanse talking about how he saw his daughter's turd in the toilet and it was "as long as her arm and big around as his wrist" or something nasty like that. Then there's those crazy "doctors" that look like palm-reading gypsies or something interviewing him: I watch the Magic Bullet one all the time for some reason. I love it when that Doris lady comes out half way through in a freakin NIGHT GOWN (WTF??) and she has a fake cigarette hanging out of her mouth hahahaha Finally I would say those Citibank commercials or whatever talking about identity theft and they have some random person that is mouthing the words of whoever stole their identity. The only funny one is the dude sitting in his recliiner with a beer in his hand and a wife-beater and then goes on about how the leather bra lifts and separates and THAT's only funny because it's the first time I saw one of those commercials |

Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
Oh yeah, a guy said it earlier - IBM ads. They're so goddamned stupid. Sitting at a cafe in Europe wearing a suit (LOL) talking about servers (LOL). Or standing in an empty lobby talking about their Global Integration Plan while texting furiously. WTF is this? They come on a lot during golf tournaments which is a more upper-class demographic, but how many people watching are actually decision-makers?
Most McDonald's ads also of course. Like the one where the Screech-looking mother [censored] solicits dollars to make a run and then comes back and starts grinding on some hot chick while a brother eats a parfait. So illogical. |

Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
Many people have mentioned the Truth ads but the worst one is the one where the guy is dressed up in the purple costume. The ads says that in 1979 tobacco companies provided their product to be featured in the Muppet movie.
OMG!!!! That happened 28 years ago. I wasn't even born then. Also the Carl's Jr. ads where if the burger doesn't go all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face makes me want to punch babies. Sonic and Geico caveman ads are great. Although I do not like the Geico lizard commericials. |

Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
Why wouldn't the truth people lay any blame on the Muppet movie people are accepting the product in the first place?
I really hate the Tobacco truth ads. With a real passion. Almost every one of them twists facts almost more than the tobacco people did in the first place when they tried to claim it wasn't bad for your health. Some of the anti-drug and anti-alcohol ads tick me off too but the Truth ads really put me on life-tilt. |

I love those Sonic commercials, those 2 guys are so funny. I like the one where he says, "You know it's 6:00 in the morning right?" Makes me want to go out and get some Sonic right now! lol

Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
All: I'm surprised so many people are still watching commercials. DVR, people!
LFS and friends: "There's an anti-drug commercial in which a puppy asks a teen to stop smoking pot that infuriates me." WTF? Those commercials are all f'ing great. I love them. http://abovetheinfluence.com/the-ads....aspx?path=nav http://abovetheinfluence.com/the-ads...ipt-flags.aspx HAHHAHAHAHHAHA (Scene opens with a guy smoking weed. His dog just stares at him.) GUY: Stop looking at me. GUY: I can stop smoking pot anytime I want. DOG: O.K. - how about right now. (Guy looks away and becomes sad) GUY: Next week is better. DOG: You disappoint me. (Dog walks away and then raises his flag of independence) I LOVE THESE ADS!!!!!!! |

All: I'm surprised so many people are still watching commercials. DVR, people! [/ QUOTE ] True, but I do watch a lot of sports live (sporting events I care a little less about I will record and watch delayed). This inevitably means I have to see certain commercials ad nauseum, like the IBM ones, or the freakish semi-cartoon Schwab ones, with the guy at the BBQ or the guy in the coffee shop. |

Re: Commercials that make you NOT buy the product
If I see Danny N swing a golf club or jog or eat Sushi one more time I'm taking all my money off Stars.
I don’t even dislike the guy I just hate the commercial. Come on you marketing dorks, show the guy pulling up to the Bellagio in the back of a limo playing four tables on a notebook or something. GS |
