Re: ftops event #6 does anyone fold in this spot?
He's taking the piss. Never fold there. And raise more on the flop.

Re: ftops event #6 does anyone fold in this spot?
Never ever fold. His push could easily be a flush draw, another set, or an overpair potentially. Against unknowns online I never make big laydowns. Ya, sometimes they get lucky but most of the time you'll be happy/shocked at what they have.

Re: ftops event #6 does anyone fold in this spot?
Yeah, he's going to have the nuts a lot here considering he got a free look in the BB. However, the key here is that if you're ahead of a set, two pair or an overpair he's almost dead but if you're behind you have plenty of outs.

Re: ftops event #6 does anyone fold in this spot?
Come on guys, here is somebody who took a bad beat and asks himself what most of us asked themselfes several times as well - did I have a chance to avoid this? Please just stop kidding at him - experts / good players shouldn´t be in need of teasing newbies ...

[ QUOTE ]
raise preflop [/ QUOTE ] Open-raising preflop is of course okay (that's pretty much never a horrible play), but is it really preferable to limping here? With 22-88 early in a donkament, I like to keep the pot small preflop and to keep hands like 97o in the pot, so I can stack them when I hit a set. Too bad the OP got cold-decked, but I think he played it fine. |
