3 monitors, graphics question
I am currently running two monitors and the setup below. I am thinking about getting a third monitor, probably a dell 2007fp but I might go bigger and place it in the middle of the other two. What kind of upgrades do I need on my video card to allow this? I have one monitor in the VGA and one in the DVI right now, so will I just have to buy another video card?
I want to to be very fast as I will use it for 12+ tabling with no overlap. If any other components besides the video card need to be upgraded please say so. Thanks! My setup: pentium 4 3.4ghz, 1.5gb RAM RADEON 9600 256mb 400mhz dell 2001FP, dell 2007FP |

Re: 3 monitors, graphics question
if xp:
pretty much any decent pci video card should do unless you're getting the 30" in which case get a card that supports dual-link dvi-d. if vista (or if you're planning to upgrade to vista): you're going to want to get a motherboard that has two pci-e slots, and get a 2nd pci-e video card with a chipset from the same manufacturer as your current video card. again, if you buy the 30", get a card that supports dual-link dvi-d. if you don't want to do all this, you can just install a regular pci video card on your current motherboard, but you will have to use XP drivers and won't get vista visual features such as "aero". |

Re: 3 monitors, graphics question
Read the monnitor FAQ.
After that just buy any decent PCI video card and pop it in. That'll give u room for 4 monitors. |
