Re: I\'m deep, hit bottom set...and am thinking of folding?!??!?
Does he 4-bet a flopped set of Jacks or Queens here? A lot of people will try to take you to valuetown later on.
You also shouldn't shove flop. That would be dumb because any thinking opponent would fold AA/KK here, and only call with QQ/JJ. And I'd forget using Pokerstove in these situations. You'll never be able to weight his range to the action accurately enough. |

Err.. Are you saying you call his 3bet preflop to fold to flop action?
This is instapush, nothing else should not even cross your mind - what do you need the stove for?! If money makes you uncomfortable just move down till you get your roll in order. Reef: I am replying to OP. |

Re: I\'m deep, hit bottom set...and am thinking of folding?!??!?
Given that you have been pushing him around, he probs trying to buy the pot.
If he has hit top set and knows you've reraised surely he would just flat call knowing you'll fire out again on the turn? I don't think its as simple as insta-push but he does seem to playing out AA or KK and thinks he'll get paid off with AQ. Read dependent but unless you think he's protecting his top/2nd set against a straight draw I would push here as well. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't make a habit of thinking of folding sets on the flop...this one was just a little unusual since the cards that came on the flop hit his range so hard and I'm relatively deep. BR isn't an issue, just a general range analysis question. Haven't played much deepstack poker so I'm a little cautious... At 100bbs-easy push At 200bbs still a push At 300bbs-am I willing to felt it? At 400bbs & above-? Note: I pushed, he called and flipped over AA. |

Just take a habit of leaving the table when you reach up to 300 deep and you will be fine. No need to put your bank roll at risk against good players (bad ones would rarely have over 200BB).

Anything besides pushing here is gross and incredibly weak - tight.

Re: I\'m deep, hit bottom set...and am thinking of folding?!??!?
Simply for the fact that "tight nittish" players almost never seem to 3 bet JJ or QQ makes this seem like an easy push.
Your open raise and flat call the 3 bet is likely enough to convince him you have AQo or something perhaps and he just wants to get it all in. Pump that fist. |

Re: I\'m deep, hit bottom set...and am thinking of folding?!??!?
i just wanted to make a quick comment here b/c i think its kinda important about playing deep
1) these little raises are probably never JJ/QQ- simply b/c he probably wants more $ in pre flop with those hands 2)this is AA/KK/AK probably at least 75%, i dont know why people do smallish 3bets with these hands but they love to 3) if your considering folding a flopped bottom set for only 200bb's in this spot--- you really shouldn't play hands like 44 in rr pots if your not willing to get it in here--- thats why people make responses like "this is an easy push" b/c there is nothing else they really need to say 4) please get your $ in as quick as possible here and pray for no A or K 5) watch all those pretty chips slip into your 500bb stack |
