Trip Report: Surf Lessons

Either you got a great instructor, you're a great athlete, or everyone else I know who's tried to surf is terrible. Standing up is a hell of an accomplishment, or so I'm told.

yeah, its a little easier to stand up if someone gives you a push though

regardless, the few times ive tried all i could think was the effort/reward ratio was totally out of whack, but thats also probably because i sucked

It's not that tough. Maybe under different circumstances or using a short board it's much tougher. The board I used was very long and I didn't need to have great balance to stand.

Also, it helped to have him tell me when to stand.
