I Did fold on fourth street as you all seemed to agree with. After i folded, OM liked to feel up his cards very openly so the ones around could see them. When i saw him peel them up on 5th street he had pocket 4's. He did not fill up and CIA started with pocket jacks and won by running perfect for a straight. Seemed very strange to limp reraise a Queen with buried jacks. He proceeded to lose his money very quickly in the next hour. Funny follow up, he invites his friend to sit down, his friend has no clue how to play. After a little bit, its me, 2 other good players, CIA and CIA's friend, then the game broke when CIA and his friend left because CIA chased his friend down on every hand and busted him the last hand by calling his against his friend who had open queens while CIA had 44 and rivered trips. |

Most of the time you're beat here, and when you're beat the situation is dismal. This was the best case scenario, and your equity's still not all that great. |

Is the Borg 20/40 always this good? [/ QUOTE ] I've only played in it 3 times but the borgata 20/40 stud only runs on saturday for some reason. Its mostly the same guys every saturday, with 2-3 that play decent/good and the rest are pretty bad. There are 2 guys who just reload constantly and call what seems like any 3 cards on thrid street. Oh yeah, he had a jack high straight. |

Yea - it has always been pretty soft when I have sat in it. Taj is much better for 20-40 stud though since there are multiple games pretty much all the time (as well as 10-20 and 40-80).

I would have capped it on third with no door card higher than mine, and then on fourth if someone still bet into me, especially with a door pairing I would have folded. They both sound like idiots so hopefully you took their money on later hands.

Capping third would be moderately atrocious.

What would be wrong about capping third if you think/have the best hand and people are willing to play? Honest question.

What would be wrong about capping third if you think/have the best hand and people are willing to play? Honest question. [/ QUOTE ] 1) It's ridiculous that hero was ahead here. CIA is a moron. 2) Our hand is not totally live. 3) Building a big pot now will tie them on in a spot where we'd rather play heads up. We also make it harder to get away from our hand even when our opponents' boards get scary. |
