Call or raise the turn
15/30 Hollywood Park
Early position limper (loose/very passive) I'm in late postion and limp with QJo. SB completes BB (very loose/aggressive) checks Flop KT3 rainbow Checked to me I bet BB and EP call Turn 9 (no flush draw possible) BB checks EP bets (to my surprise) Do I smooth call with nuts to lure in the BB, or raise hoping to get the very loose BB to call two bets? Or do I wait to put my raise in on the river? Given what I've seen of the EP player, he has at least two pair and possibly the same hand as me. |

Re: Call or raise the turn
Given the read BB, I'm fine with preflop, though I'm sure half this board still wants you to raise PF.
Just call the turn, Villain will fold any pair but a K to a raise.(He doesn't have one because he doesnt' bet the flop) You have position on the raiser so there's no way you're missing bets unless he checks the river. If that happens, it's likely he wouldn't call the raise anyways. Prediction: You called, BB folds, EP checks river, and that's why you posted the hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] I called BB called River was an ace BB LED OUT EP called I raised They both call (I didn't see their hands) Although it turned out well for me, I didn't want to just base it on that alone. The BB is SO loose that he would most likely would have called two bets with bottom pair ace kicker. |

Re: Call or raise the turn
If BB is indeed that loose I just would have raised the turn, unless he is the kind of guy that also pays 2-bets on the river with bottom pair ace kicker.

The other guy folds on the turn anyway and then it is checked to me on the river. |

Re: Call or raise the turn
From pot equity point of view, I usually raise preflop. You can outplay EP (bet whole way and fold if he does anything at all), and your hand is going to be beating BB most of the time.
Raise turn, wtf? Is this trolling? Especially if you know BB will call 2 cold with garbage. It would suck if board paired or a Q/T came on the river. If board pairs and EP leads out, are you going to raise? |
