i was in this spot today too, and for some reason it confused the hell out of me... i think a controlled c/bet is the best option and id play it all the way

Re: JTs Flops OESD in Reraised Pot
Well, a bet here may fold out like TT/JJ or a smaller pair if he decided to go set mining. Getting c/r'd here would be awful, though.
I don't think a check behind loses too much FE for you later in the hand, since plenty of people would check behind a big set here. If I had been 3betting a ton and I had seen the guy c/r a time or to before, I'd be checking behind. If I hadn't been 3betting much and the guy seemed pretty straightforward/tight, I'd fire out at this probably. On the whole I like a check here though. If he missed the flop there's not much chance of him improving, and you should still have FE on the turn if you choose to go for the delayed c-bet. If he leads the turn, it probably means he whiffed a c/r as I think a hand like JJ/TT is likely to check the turn again. |

Re: JTs Flops OESD in Reraised Pot
is this the first three-bet pot you've played with him? vs. an unknown I would bet close to pot and expect to take it down a lot. after i bet pot odds probably dictate calling a shove. I'd expect an unknown TAG to fourbet KK/QQ.

Re: JTs Flops OESD in Reraised Pot
Have to be careful with your bet because if it's to big his only raise would be all in and you can't call that. But checking seems bad too, so maybe fire 35.
EDIT: nm checking isn't that bad as you'll get paid with stacks if you hit and he has a piece of that |

You reward villains for calling your 3-bets instead of 4-betting you, and you get tons of 2-outers to fold (or hands drawing dead to fold) when you do indeed have the goods. There's 3 streets to get it in and the pot is already big. There's no reason to bet pot with the goods. And betting pot without the goods and 2/3 with them is ZOMG exploitable. |

Check behind, and then bet if he checks to you again on the turn imo.
