Re: TSN blows. Good article on UW football
[ QUOTE ]
Where they got it wrong: Senior receiver Marcel Reece will surprise the pundits. Had they watched the spring game to see Reece's three touchdown catches, they would have selected differently. [/ QUOTE ] This is the first thing that jumps out at me. Hell, forget about 3 previous years of data. He had a good exhibition game against his own defense, that one game is clearly the most important data point that people should look to. The rest of it is griping about schedule ratings, how redshirt sophomores are going to step in and surprise people, etc. Newsflash: Washington lost their best player in Stanback, struggled without him, and don't have the coaching track record of, say, Tressel at OSU where you figure you can just plug new recruits into the system and you'll have a good team. Every fan of a team thinks that this is the year, but I won't bash someone for seeing past mediocrity and expecting that to continue in the future. |

Re: TSN blows. Good article on UW football
[ QUOTE ]
From the Seattle PI today. Sometimes I wonder if The Sporting News even watches any games. link b [/ QUOTE ] Bern, That was a pretty poor article. As the other poster said, basically it's "we aren't that bad, we have lots of unknowns who will blow up, but yeah, our record will still suck because of the schedule." I mean, the conclusion doesn't even argue the fact that their record will blow. What's the beef? That a 5-6 team should be ranked higher than #80 or whatever? Ummm, ok. |
