Villain is 55/6/2 over about 50 hands. I've been working on making thinner value bets lately, is this a good spot?

I think a call here is better, only hand calling that raise is a better hand.

I like a minraise better as it has a better chance of getting called by something you beat like KJ or AT. Personally, Im calling though. Maybe its a small leak in my game but I dont like to get too crazy with hands where i improve after I have kind of lost control of the hand.

With someone this loose though, isn't his range wide enough that I get value out of 7x and Tx hands?

a lot of hands which would call your large raise probably beat you.
a raise to 14 would be nice if you think he would pay you off here, but im a nit and proobably call a lot there.he just played it too weird): |

i'd just call, but if you're gonna raise, don't raise so much. as people point out above me, he's gonna fold about everything, so it's not excactly a value-raise anymore... more like a bluff.
oh, and remember: bad players are allowed to get good cards too, and they LOVE to slowplay... so i'd definately leave some money behind... raising to 6 could get some value though |

I just call, a raise thins his range to mostly hands which beat you. Villain has to be particularly poor to make a mistake against you with a river raise like this.

I think the raise is too big. Dont mind a raise though. Mor like $15 [/ QUOTE ] I actually like making minraises in these spots. The coordinated look of the board probably makes me chicken out and flat call though. Don't want to see a connector that made a 2pair. Edit: forget the part about the connectedness. I don't think it's that grave. I have looked at the board again. I still think the raise is too big and will only be called by a slowplayed hand or a hand that was helped on the river more than you. |
