I've luckily found myself on a table of players I think are playing this for the first time. I have had decent hands to start, and have won all 4 of the first 4 pots. Is this river raise from UTG an obvious slowplay, a bluff...can't be sure, and I think this may be a horrible call or a bit expensive for information.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (8 handed) internettexasholdem.com UTG (t1440) UTG+1 (t1260) MP1 (t1310) MP2 (t2030) CO (t2200) Button (t1490) SB (t1140) Hero (t3890) Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. omg fold!
Seriously: who knows what he might hold. Sometimes a higher J, sometimes TT making a full house, sometimes it's two pair going wild. I'd still call, though. |

haha ... I shove right over the top
I don't see a fold on the river here so may as well get it in now. His range is huge |

Bet more on the river so that you don't need to care about bluffs which you could have induced I would also lean to calling this one because your river bet was so small.

Bet the flop (potsize!) and in case that Villain just calls, strongly bet the turn (3/4 pot size). If he calls again, you may check/call the river.
As played here I would call the river. A shove is completely senseless imho as we know nothing about Villains hand and a higher J would perfectly fit his line here (many other hands as well - according to your weak betting, but we canīt know) ... |

think you slow played this too much, you want to be building this pot from the start. if everyone folds, sh*t happens, you get a few chips for free from the BB you wouldn't have had otherwise.
If you want people to be calling or betting big on the river with hands you can beat, you need to have something in the pot first. So build build build! As played, just call. |

Playing this hand hard from the start makes no sense. You're going to win a small pot or lose a big one. Just bet 60 on the turn and 150 on the river and fold to a raise. Nobody is going to float you flop and turn and raise river with air at a $4. As played, you are compelled to call because you bet too small.

I agree more with this line. I could have played it better, but no way am I going in with this. I folded and he showed QJ. Just wanted to be sure a fold wasn't completely donkish. I figured either a monster or A or K high. Glad he showed.
