Amount of RAM depends on you budget - more is better. It is easy to install RAM, check your owner's manual or tutotials online (google it)

they'll make sure you get the right kind for your laptop. get as much as you can afford. that laptop is pretty old though. are you having problems with it? why did you decide to add more memory? |

that's why i recommended crucial.com they have a tool you run and it tells how much is in your system and how much you need to buy to upgrade. it's pretty nice if you don't know what's in there or what your computer can support. |
