Re: KK $3/6 FT
No reads, huh? ...
I would cap here (maybe he'll slow down). If he donks the turn, call down. AA, QQ are quite possible with 3-bet from the blinds. I am not folding KK here, no sir. |

Re: KK $3/6 FT
I'd just call him down at this point, and hope for AQ. I see no reason to cap, cause then even if he check the turn, I don't feel good about checking or betting, either could easily be a mistake. If you cap and he still leads out and continues to bet, well then you're likely beat and just cost yourself another $3. If he checks and suckers you into another bet so he can c-r you then you really messed up. But if you call, and then he checks on the turn or river, I'd feel much more confident in betting in this spot. Or simply calling down if he keeps leading out.

Re: KK $3/6 FT
Without some kind of read that he is capable of this kind of aggression with a lesser hand, I am calling down from that flop 3-bet. Going passive in this situation is usually the best way to go.

Re: KK $3/6 FT
Is that 18:1?
It doesn't look you have much of an edge in terms of information. No read makes it tough to know how he'll play. I guess you'll find out. I fall for the river c/r too often. This looks like a bit of a setup to me. He's seen you slow down and believes that you have a fairly strong hand that you might bet when he shows weakness. If you check you lose nothing and win nothing. If you bet, get called and win you get 1 bet. If you bet and get raised you likely lose 2 bets. I know, I'm cap'n obvious. The only hands I can put him on based on his betting is AQ or QQ. |

Re: KK $3/6 FT
Exactly what the two "blanks" are matters here, as cards which seem innocent to you may not seem so innocent to SB holding AA. But in general I'm value betting the river when he checks it; one of the things that going into immediate calldown mode here does is underrepresents your hand (but it is correct once you're heads up, vs. an unknown anyway).
I don't think you're being set up for a river check/raise here very often at all; not a whole lot of players go for the sexy in situations like this because they know you're likely to check it through with a hand like KQ or an underpair. I tend to think that you do indeed have the best hand when he checks; maybe he's been trying to bull you out of the pot with AK or JJ/TT. Regardless, I do think you get called by a worse hand more than often enough to bet the river. |

Re: KK $3/6 FT
Turn blank was 8c.
River blank was 5d. Sure, the river paired the board, but this really doesn't change much. In this case, he DID c/r me on the river and I felt like a total chump when I paid off his AA. I guess I was just looking for validation that my line was in fact a good one. However, despite the size of the pot, am I EVER good when an unknown c/r's me here in this situation? I mean, could he really have any other hand but AA/QQ? |
