Here are Cotts' AAA numbers. He had one start where he gave 9 runs in 1.2 IP and another where he gave up 7 runs in 4.1. Last 2 appearances have been 0 runs in 7 total IP. Team League W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV IP H R ER HR BB SO GO/AO AVG IOW PCL 0 1 7.33 6 6 0 0 0 23.1 27 20 19 3 15 20 2.06 .293 |

Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
Cotts was torched again tonight. Cedeno continues to rake, his OPS is over 1.000 now. Colvin hit 2HRs tonight, he doesn't look like near the reach I thought during the draft last year.

Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
Good bullpen work tonight. 5 perfect innings by Marmol, Howry, and Dempster. Marmol had 5 Ks in 3 IP. Dempster struck out the side. Sammy struck out a few times. Good times.

Fly it! Need that win with the Brewers and Cards both winning. Amazing job by the bullpen. There's still hope! |

If we can get to 5 back by the Brewers series, I'll be happy.

ESPN in Chicago is reporting that Barrett has been traded to San Diego. No details yet and I can't find anything on the internet, so take this w/ a grain of salt.

Re: The Official 2007 Chicago Cubs Thread
Cubs just traded Barrett to San Diego for Rob Bowen (a backup catching .238 hitter who was previously acquired by Padres off waivers).
Shows how far Barrett had fallen in Chicago and what his trade value was like around the league. Rumor is that they almost did a deal Jones/Izzy/Barrett for Greene/Bowen. That would have been interesting. |
