Re: .1/.2 54s spew?
Pretty much what everyone said.
Pre-flop - fine Flop - cr is too much, I agree with Gap23 that a call is not justified. You have a crap pair with a backdoor straight and the flop has 2 clubs, you have hearts. Plus the UTG raised pre-flop and bet the flop. turn - now you have 2 flush draws. the call is borderline. you're getting 9.25 pot odds, so your implied odds are tough because if a spade or club comes you could be against a flush. river - you got your straight, hopefully UTG didn't get a flush. the bet was good. if he had raised instead of called then a call to his raise could be okay since the pot his big and he could have an over pair or 2 instead of a flush and is doubting your straight. |

Re: .1/.2 54s spew?
I have developed this highly mathematical equation for this hand.
3 Loose opponents + check-raising with a weak and vulnerable hand = bad! |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] With a c-bet and two people calling, check/raising middle pair with no kicker is spew. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] On this particular board in this spot the flop raise is bad. In generel tho I really hate general statements like the quoted one and IMO its not a particular constructive input. The rest of the hand is fine [/ QUOTE ] fortunately/unfortunately??? this was not a general statement. Ii was specific in the fact that it said "With a c-bet and two people calling [in this spot w/ this board]". With this being the case, a c/r is total spew.. no questions or generalizations about it! |

[ QUOTE ] Ugh! Folding the flop is terrible [/ QUOTE ] Yeah 11:1 closing the action + perfect relative position = call [/ QUOTE ] 11:1 justfies playing on if you have 4 clean outs, that i do not question...and if one has greater implied odds, so much the better...respectfully, i do not see 4 clean outs here and i think there are some reverse implied odds issues to consider with the river card...the 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] & 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] are both tainted as they put 3 clubs on the board and there are 3 opponents...if either the 4 or 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] come on the turn we can still beat by a redraw of another club on the river...i think we have only 3 outs clean, and even then the outs from the clean 5's can be beaten by a redraw that pairs a villain's kicker...i would want odds more like 16:1 to call here...a more experienced player than me might go ahead and play this hand, but i'd prefer not to take the risk and wait for a better overlay before putting my money into the pot |
