While the $1500 NLHE fields have generally been bigger than last year, so far the $2000 and $2500 fields are down ~20%,
Event 19 - $2500 June 11 1290 last year 1013 this year -21.5% Event 10 - $2000 June 6 1919 last year 1531 this year -20.2% If this trend continues, we could see a 20-30% drop in the WSOP ME, down from 8773 to 6000-7000. Other NLHE events to keep an eye on: Event 22 - $5000 June 13 622 last year Event 25 - $2000 June 15 1579 last year Event 47 - $2000 June 29 2050 last year |

Hasn't everyone been predicting 6-7000?

I think it would be really cool if this year broke a record and they had 10,000 and had to use the day off to have another group. For some reason I seem to be the only person who thinks that it could actually have more people

Other NLHE events to keep an eye on: Event 22 - $5000 June 13 622 last year [/ QUOTE ] 640 entrants today in the $5K, about the same as last year, so that's a good sign. |

Some of the results might be biased.
There are more events this year, which gives players more options. In other words, perhaps more players would be playing the $2000 and $2500 events if the $1500 events weren't available on pretty much a daily basis. |

Regardless of the specific #s, the turnouts have been excellent. UIEGA hasn't done the damage so many feared it would.

I think more people are coming out early and playing in the smaller tourneys but when asked to hand over $10,000 in cash, will fly home.
I also have under 7650. |
