Tucson big game info
What, when, and where is the big game in Tucson now?

Re: Tucson big game info
I don't know if this is the one you're asking about, but I was at Del Sol earlier tonight (Friday) and they were starting up the big mixed game there. I don't know what the limits were, but everybody was buying in for at least 2 racks of green ($5000).
The only other public "big game" I've seen is the $20-$40 at Desert Diamond (not really big, but by Tucson standards, meh). That usually runs on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and I've occasionally seen it bumped up to $50-$100 when there are enough interested parties. |

Re: Tucson big game info
The green chip game goes pretty much every Tuesday night at Casino del Sol. It is 75-150 dealer's choice. It is the biggest regular game that I've heard about at either of the two Tucson casinos. (I don't play that high, but I think I would have heard about any other one.)

Re: Tucson big game info
Tuesday nights at del sol (5 PMish) there is a regular 75/150 dealer choice. I've been told to beware of collusion in this game but don't know how reliable the source was, plus that game is over my head $$ wise so I dont even touch it.
Desert Diamond runs a 20/40 game on Thursday nights, call the room now if you are interested and get on the list as it fills up quickly. Occasionally, with the right line up, this game will go until late Saturday night. The Diamond will also get a 15/30 game going a few times a week and the 8/16 starts around noon every day. I've seen a list started for 4-40 spread at del sol but never seen the game start, same goes for 5-150 - I think the 5/150 was going wednesday nights for a while but honestly, I skip del sol 90% of the time - the better action, at least for my game, is at the diamond. |

Re: Tucson big game info
The only times I've seen the 4-40 going strong is on weekends, especially if there's a big show going on at AVA. I concur on the 5-150 (seen it listed, only seen it start up once).
I haven't been to the Diamond since I discovered the lip-smacking goodness that is the 2-20 spread-limit game at Del Sol. (I've doubled my admittedly meager bankroll in under two weeks.) Is DD still trying to get spread-limit going, and are they ever successful? I'd rather go there to cut down on the commute, but more than that, I'd rather play spread-limit. |

Re: Tucson big game info
The big game? You must mean the 3-6 at Del Sol.
Do they even spread 6-12 anywhere in town anymore? Near as I can tell, the 6-12 just vanished when 8-16 showed up. I'm not a big fan of Del Sol. First, it's a giant pain to get out there with all the road construction, which will be compounded (at least for me) by the I-10 nightmare that's about to be unleashed. Plus I find some (a select few) of the dealers there to be somewhat obnoxious, and I'm REALLY against their off-duty dealers sitting down and playing. I used to play mostly 3-6 and 6-12 at the DD, but that place is such a dump. It's downright depressing at times. Anybody know when the new building is opening up? |

Re: Tucson big game info
The new Diamond is supposed to open this fall, I believe one of the dealers said September. And Del Sol is relocating their poker room this fall so it will be larger and more isolated, away from the annoying sound effects that emnate regularly from the nickel slots. Also, Del Sol's adding an OTB site, so you can play the ponies while you sit at the table; there's one more leak to my game.
6/12 isn't dead, but it rarely lasts too long. I think I've been involved in 2 6/12 games in the last 3 months, and they've both broken up or been converted to 8/16 (one was even made into a must-move, fer chrissakes) before 10 p.m. I agree about some of the dealers at Del Sol. Some of them seem far more interested in being obnoxious and yelling across the room to their coworkers than running the game. And allowing them to play there seems a little questionable, but I've never had a real problem with it. |

Re: Tucson big game info
The last couple times I was there (Friday nights) the Stud 8/Omaha 8 75/150 game was up and going at CDS.
I am a friend of a friend one of the players -- dude is a total degen. Ha. BTW, apparently one 2-20 was omaha and hold 'em hi/lo -- anyone ever heard of hold 'em hi/lo??? Apprently you can play single card to make a hand. |
