"Batman Begins" is no more a sequel than "Batman" with Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson was.

From Russia With Love>Dr. No

(It's close though and they're both excellent)

Spider-Man 2> Spider-Man

(It's close though and they're both excellent)

Road Warrior> Mad Max

(It's close though and they're both excellent)

Terminator and Terminator 2 are a toss-up, both excellent (IMDB ranks 2 higher)

Reliving the Scream 2 dialogue in a 2p2 thread?

Anyhow, common knowledge is:

Godfather 2 > Godfather
Terminator 2 > Terminator
Rocky IV > all other Rocky movies
Road Warrior >= Mad Max

As for almost every other sequel... no, not really. Originals are almost always better. There are too many dingbats who have terrible taste in movies and think silly things like Aliens > Alien, among other franchises.

I'll take Aliens over Alien but Ill stick with Terminator over T2 despite the awesomeness of Robert Patrick.

Psycho killer Arnold > Friendly surrogate dad Arnold.

This thread has been done and recently, but whatever.

I am in the apparently huge minority on this board who prefers Die Hard 2 to the original. In fact, some people prefer the third installment to the second, which baffles me.

LOL. Don't get me wrong, I liked Rocky IV, but the original is in a different league. It goes I>II>IV>III>VI>V.
