Re: 3Barrel hand
I saw Carter in another thread say that this is the way how LAGs sometime play there sets... MHO is that after the turn you are beating JTs, 89s and maybe ATs. I think you are facing a set here; you raised preflop OOP, so he can't really be afraid that you have a draw on the flop. On the turn even the K doesn't scare him (you might have improved with AK). Would he call with PP's on the flop and the turn or float them.....? Only possible if he reads you exactly for AQ. I don't like it.

Re: 3Barrel hand
pot size is risky for this, alot of villians commit to a call here, even if they are oop and check lol.

Re: 3Barrel hand
accually that might just be against me since ill throw my stack in on three streets easily if i sense weekness, its to the point where regs check call all the way to the [censored] river with top set and such. but now atleast they are pretty docile on every hand we play.

Re: 3Barrel hand
I think you need more to push him out on the river. If you were closer to pot size I think youd have a better shot of pulling it off.

Re: 3Barrel hand
like the turn, on river.. its pretty bad, if he doesnt have 89 we are going to get looked too often I belive. and if he has 89, he might not check it behind.
I give up here more than 75% of time. |

Re: 3Barrel hand
well if he does have 77 or 22 he isn't folding, TT seems really unlikely, I don't see many Kx hands in his range
so that leaves Tx hands that didn't believe me on the turn, possibly some PP hands too, do you think he calls with a T here? [ QUOTE ] and if he has 89, he might not check it behind. [/ QUOTE ] spot to bluff to prevent being bluffed? |

Re: 3Barrel hand
You could see K10 a lot, but I think this is actaully a really good stack size to do it with. 3/4 pot should be plenty to fold 10x hands or even Kx hands often if they floated the flop. I'd like it a lot more if it was a full table, but its still not bad. Good board and good opponent to try this against.

Re: 3Barrel hand
When he doesn't fold to the scare card on the turn I usually give up. You're representing a pair >=T pretty clearly here and he's clearly said he's not going anywhere. Barring a read that he likes to call 2 barrels (which you don't seem to have) this guy is either a station OR he's beating what you're representing. A set is definately in his range, there's very few draws. I'm not sure what's in his range that he's both A) capable of folding and B) willing to call 2 barrels with, particularly after the overcard on the turn.
If you think he plays 88/99 like this and can fold river then maybe but I think that's expecting a lot from random loose/bad player. Have you noticed him calling two streets a lot with no draws and giving up on the river? If not, I think this is pretty dodgy. |

Re: 3Barrel hand
I would think that he may even raise 77 and 22. I am not sure what sort of Tx hands that he is open-limping on the button with. I think he may have something like QTs-T8s,JTs, 77-22. I think you can pretty much all of these hands to fold if this is an accurate range.
