Deep stacks with AKhh in tilt 22k.
Villain is 22/14/4 over 450 hands. He tends to reraise big hands smaller and resteals bigger. I don't think theres any chance of him 'restealing' in these positions.
Hero holds A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in MP1, villain is MP2 Villain: 8700 hero: 9800 Blinds 120/240 25 ante Preflop: Folds to hero, hero raises to 700, MP2 reraises to 1900, folds to hero, hero? Jam or call and evaluate? Is there some kind of rule to go by in these type of situations? |

call and evaluate for sure based on the stacks and the amount he raised its probably the best play in this spot imo

you ae just deep enough to call. a fold is too weak tight. a little shorter id shove

Re: Deep stacks with AKhh in tilt 22k.
If your stack was <6K right here I'd be shoving. With current stacks, I'd call & evaluate.
If you wiff the flop I'd be happy to get away from it there. |

Re: Deep stacks with AKhh in tilt 22k.
35 BB isn't really thaaat deep. I guess it is for online tourneys but whatever. Without your bet-sizing read I just shove here every time. Maybe I shouldn't but it feels so gross to call 1200 more and check-fold most of the time. But yeah, based on your read I think you should call and try to flop the nuts.

i'd flat too. shoving can't be that bad tho with 42% equity vs jj+/ak.

yeah i guess flat call is ok but i always jam these spots because what are we hoping if we flat call, that we spike a K and QQ pays us off somehow?

Re: Deep stacks with AKhh in tilt 22k.
lol deep stacks =)
how tight are you usually bond? do you think your opening range is wide enough that he is 3betting TT here? 99? AQ? i think i usually jam here because of the possibility of folding out some hands that we are flipping with, and because i dont really understand how a good flop can come for us.. like if it comes Kxx or Axx he folds everything we beat and we lose our stack to everything that is beating us. i know we might have direct odds to "suck out" to an ace or a king, but i dont really like it given the reverse implied odds of doing so. i think folding isnt really an option this shallow (although i'm tempted to do so given bond's read) so id cram and just sort of pray he folds TT or does something else stupid. |

[/ QUOTE ] I shove because I can't fold AK pf and because of this and because we have no way of winning this hand by calling (if your read is correct) except by outflopping him. |
