New FAQ is up
Ok, so I put a new FAQ up. A couple of things about it...
First off, a note to the other mods. I hope you guys don't mind that this sort of came out of nowhere. I just got tired of talking about it and decided to do this at work this morning. Even if this ends up not being the final version, I hope it's at least better than the old one and hopefully we can tweak it this week and finally be done with the whole thing. Obviously, you guys have free reign over what's there now... do whatever you want to it, including deleting it and putting the old one back up. The old FAQ is here if we need it for some reason: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...e=0#Post2821605 Let me know if you want the source for the new one, I have it saved obv. Now, to everyone else... This one uses existing 2+2 CSS elements, or at least I tried to make it. It looks fine for me using infopop styling and Firefox. If it looks weird to you, tell me what display preferences you are using and what internet browser. Also I haven't proofread it really well, so be a nit and tell me if there are grammer or spelling mistakes. Finally, look over it for content... if it's missing something, if you think any info is inaccurate, basically anything you see that could be improved... air it out in this thread. I will make changes as necessary. |

Nice work.
Small edit in What not to post in STTF: So if you internet is working but you can't connect to a poker site, what do you think is wrong? |

Re: New FAQ is up
It looks great and the new attainable ROI table was a much needed improvement.

Re: New FAQ is up
I just realized I can't edit an HTML post in HTML, which is dumb... but whatever.
Here's a change Devin pointed out over IM. There's some overlap in the Policies / What not to post sections. So I'll change that. Once we figure out what to improve, I'll delete what's up now and post the final version. |

Re: New FAQ is up
I like how the attainable ROIs have shrunk and the BR reqs are up.
sngs are drying up :-( |

Re: New FAQ is up
You might add ATC to the list of abbreviations.
Well done. |

Re: New FAQ is up
Wiggs, very nice job on the FAQ. Better information and much more user-friendly than the old one.
In regards to the ROI section, I think it would be good if you specified how many tables these ROI's are based off of (I think you are basing them off a 4 tabler, but I'm not sure). I think this is important because at least in my experiences there are HUGE fluctuations in ROI based on how many tables I play. I'm also surprised that there isn't a wider spread between the ROI's you state are possible for some of the higher sng's versus the lower sng's. For example, if 11% is good for the 27's and 10% is good for the 60's, this is only a difference of 1%?? That seems pretty negligible. Are you telling me that a player at the 27's who moves to the 60's, will only see a decrease of 1% in his ROI?? That seems pretty small. Am I wrong? At any rate, good work on the FAQ!! |

Re: New FAQ is up
Sparta,
The ROI section was the toughest, imo, because for one, I don't play SNGs any more and 2, it's just sort of weird to try to come up with what "good" ROIs are for each level. The point I wanted to get across basically was that as you move up, you should expect slight decreases in your ROI. But anyone feel free to offer up different numbers, I'm very open to suggestions. |
