Default How do you sleep after making the FT (LC)

I really have a problem sleeping after making it deep in a tournament or final table. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to change this?

Me too. I could hardly sleep at all after winning a WSOP seat last week [brag, sorry] and it would probably have been even worse if I had whiffed it heads up. I try to take half an hour off from poker before going to bed, have some hot chocolate or something like that, but it is difficult and I'm interested to hear others' responses.

I solve all psychological problems that poker causes the same way. I talk to someone who doesn't play poker and explain the problem.

They usually are totally shocked by whatever I have to say. So, in this example it'd be "OMG you made $x in one tournament!!!" or "OMG you would've made $y more if a K hadn't come on the river!!" or whatever.

Inevitably, when they start telling me that poker is horrible and I should quit and/or poker is awesome and I should drop out of school to make $1B/year, I start to correct them and explain that this stuff is totally normal and it all balances out to a nice decent salary in the end, and that good poker players are able to deal with this stuff. In the process, I usually convince myself that this is true.. at least temporarily.

I just think to myself how many buyins at PLO it is and it makes me calmer.

If the number is >50 I start to hyperventilate.
