The 5-10 limit hold'em game in Motor City is an unbeatable game played solely by a rock-garden line-up. I'm taking my bankroll elsewhere.

Yeah, I hate it when I have AA and 7 players limp in front of me. That's right, 7. I didn't win, but that is too be expected in a 9 way raised pot

Some days the 5-10 at MCC is a rock fest. Other days, it's a limp/passive fest. Value bet their pants off.

Every night I come in there it's the same lineup... 4-bet derek, get the best of it pete, 3-bet wes, telegraph my hand diago, cant lay a good hand down art, speckled rainbow glasses too-timid too-tight woman, bill with the visor table coach, kings ace-kicker victor, the guy whos trying to kill the skunks in his garden, and nabil that crazy arabic guy who curses at everone constantly in arabic...

Maybe I should come earlier in the day. But then I'm playing with Shaky and Dave and I hate them as well as the other crusty timid tight old people. Shaky is a mental case and coffee talk Dave works on my nerves.

The only fish I can think of who play regularly in that game are "chance" the old fart from ohio who always gives everyone candy and chases everything to the river (word is he hit a royal on caribean stud and has money to burn?!?), and a few select others. But the game is marginal at best... plus that rake... plus the enforced shorthandedness...

You and Wes are better off in the 10-20 game, if your bankroll will allow you to play. There are some bigger fish for you to fry over there. And you can punish them 3-4 fold for their mistakes. In my perspective, the 5-10 is full of lots of timid players who are just killing time, whereas the 10-20 is full of aggressive players who play less than marginal hands and do their fair share of chasing.

Actually, I think the real money is in that no-limit game, if you can get good at it. It's mostly a macho dick-sling fest and if you can snap off big bluffs or guys who like to constantly overbet you can really clean up. The hard part is avoiding getting trapped. This is where I'll be playing if you do see me down at Motor City, however, I'll be going up to Mt. Pleasant more and more.

If you and Wes ever want to take a weekend trip to any casino within a reasonable drive, let me know because I jump at the chance to play out of town. It is very profitable because nobody is familiar with your playng style.

Of course there is a whole lot of money in that NL game. It played big when it was 2-5 and I don't know how big it is now since I haven't played it. I wouldn't go near it w/out at LEAST a 20k bankroll. Check out Foxwoods Justin. I was there last week for a few days and was there during the week. The action was great and there were tons of games. Of course room rates are expensive and if you fly into La guardia you can get there for around $100, then rent a car and make the drive. It's only 130 miles but getting out of NY can be a reaaaaaal bitch which makes it a 4 hour drive in traffic. Oh and don't forget the WSOP is starting on Monday. I was there last year for a couple months and the action was great. I'll be there again this year for a good part of it also.
