If you're playing poke for a livng, you're already investing. In yourself. Also, poker will be profitable FOREVER for all winning players. How can you mkae such a stupid comment like that? |

Re: How rich is JohnnyBax?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] second, a guy i played w/ about a year back had a high six figure bankroll while he was still a high school teacher and played from 10/20 nl all the way down to 1/2 nl so it's kind of naive to say that anything is for sure. [/ QUOTE ] Assuming 100bb buy-in's at the highest stakes that your friend plays (10/20 NL), one buy-in is $2000. So his bankroll (high six figures, so we'll call that what 600-800k?) is what, 300-400 buyins? A bit on the conservative side don't you think? -bigbootch [/ QUOTE ] that was exactly my point. the guy was a school teacher, a very successful investor and very successful poker player. he played 1/2-10/20 even though his net worth would have allowed him to play quite a bit higher. just like bax playing $100 tournies is "a bit on the conservative side." |

Re: How rich is JohnnyBax?
Seems like a pretty horrible investor if he has a 300+ BI bankroll. He should diversify his bonds, [censored].

Re: How rich is JohnnyBax?
Bax kills the live tournies as well. As people have mentioned, it's fruitless to even attempt to guess his net worth but if I had to guess, I would think 10 million is a good starting point considering his success both live, online and his success in his previous life as in the financial sector. It's not like he started playing online when he was 19. This guy had a career in the financial industry for years before his success online. And Syosset NY is a very exclusive club, trust me. you don't live there with less than 7 digits in your bank account.

I'd bet that less than 3 posters on 2+2 will have 10m at a younger age than me(not counting inheritance etc). I would also bet that less than 3 people in all of poker make 1m at a younger age than me.
