[ QUOTE ] the flop cold call already looks strong. but if you had JJ for some reason, or 99 or whatever, you wouldn't check the turn. [/ QUOTE ] why? are you suggesting like a 1/3 pot lead? [/ QUOTE ] yes. 1/3 to 1/2. just enough to give 6 outers wrong odds to draw. |

Could you please expain why you think c/c 2 bets on the flop and leading the turn looks weaker than checking? |

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
i think they probably look equally strong. but betting builds the pot and checking doesn't. and cold calling the flop and then checking the turn might look more like a sandbagging monster than leading the turn. and he might have outs against you, so checking in this huge pot isnt that great.

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
well the only other option that no one mentioned that is kind of risky is chk turn and chk river. i think by river you will get put squarely on a 99 or TT type of hand. better hands will have to value bet and worse hands may or may not try to push you off of it.
its hard to say w/o knowing if UTG comes along too though. |

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
I think the tricky thing is this... the original raiser is the guy who has 150BB. He's probably not going broke here with TT-QQ if I cold call here and lead the turn. GoG seems the more agressive of the two and if the raiser folds and I lead the turn, he might not have enough behind to make me fold. If GoG had the 150BB I would like a CC and lead a lot more.

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
Ok to A4 and A5 (rarely I think) but when you said 34 did you mean 32? If so, why would button be calling pre with 32?

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
Yeah I did mean 32. Prior to this I raised UTG 4 handed and he called in the blinds with 96[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] so his range is definitely pretty wide here.

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
I guess I'd just call and check turn. I like the flop check.
