Replacement tires
Where do you guys purchase your tires from? Online? Favorite store? If the latter, do you haggle with them? |

Re: Replacement tires
I buy new ones when when I busto the old ones. I usually pay retail at the place where everyone runs because I'm running late for where ever I need to be.

Re: Replacement tires
Chicago. A few friends have suggested Tirerack.com, I checked out Discount Tires online and they seem to be the cheapest. Not sure if I have to pay sales tax on that since they have stores in IL. |

Re: Replacement tires
Discount has done ok by me. Farm & Fleet I like, too. I don't do the siping [censored] at Discount. Discount also does free balancing ever 10k miles once you get tires there. If you go online for tires, make certain to check around for mounting and balancing. They will most likely charge you more. Also, ifthe online place has a store in IL, you will pay sales tax.

Re: Replacement tires
I recently put tires on my truck, and shopped around quite a bit. Costco and Sam's Club were cheap, but Wal-Mart was actually cheaper for the same tire (not on sale). Getting your car into a Wal-Mart Auto Center is like hell on earth though. You either have to get there when they open, or leave your car. They don't take appointments, it's all first come-first served.
