Sorry Ive no converter here.

absent any reads or other info I'd fold this. he's not fooling with AK. he's got AA maybe KK or QQ. a set or quads or FH would be more slow played.

Early in a low buyin tournament, I never fold this.
Oh, and I probably just shove pf. Depends to a certian extent on the site. |

Also, this early I like to take chances. Doubling up is often necessary during the first hour, and if I bust, there's always another 10+1 tournament due to start soon. |

Re: Is he just fooling with ak here?? Or am I well beaten??
It depends on my mood. Somedays I'm ticked with the world so I call this vehemently and double up. Other days (when I'm rational)I simply fold, let them think I'm a little kitten and come back at him later with a really strong hand. It just depends upon whether or not I really want to cross the finish line.
Seriously, I like Doyle's advice in SS I and I follow it. Early in the torunament be super tight and don't get greedy. Harrington also advises against all-in moves early on. He calls them the mark of an amateur. So what happened? |

Re: Is he just fooling with ak here?? Or am I well beaten??
Wanted to hit fold because it did sniff like KK or AA to me. I called. He had aces which held up.
Comments on his play....Is min raising with aces good in general?? I personally never do it |

Re: Is he just fooling with ak here?? Or am I well beaten??
It's [censored] play. This sort of [censored] will never let them go but he'll let you see three cards real cheap. Obviously, if you have JJ he'll stack you (me)but he'll stack you anyway on this flop, that shallow. But what about all the hands that fold the flop but call a bigger pre-flop raise, call pre-flop, call on the flop and fold on the turn and of course all the speculative hands that call a small reraise and then either flop more than one pair or fold?
FWIW, I always call in this situation on Crypto less than £20 and anywhere else $10 because this can really be anything. Over time, you'll show a profit not assuming the min-raise pf, push flop line is the nuts. Many people just click-raise and then panic on any flop, except one they've hit really hard. |
