ID Needed at East Chicago?
I haven't played at the East Chicago B&Ms in awhile. I was considering a trip to either Resorts or Majestic when I realized I lost my driver's license while out of town. I planned on playing prior to getting it back. I have a Firearm Owner's Identification Card, which is state issued with a photo, major credit cards etc. I am in my mid 30's. Should I have any problem getting playing at either of these casinos? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I propose the following metric...
Do you look young enough were you still get carded when buying booze? If not, no. If yes, yes. |

you will be carded. Before entering every casino you must present an ID. If you are I think under ~35 they will def ask for an id.
You should probably be able to get in with a FOID card, as it is state issued. Why not just go buy a state ID card? They are like 3 bucks |

For what it's worth, I am 29, play in East Chicago 1-2 times a month, and am almost ever carded (especially at Resorts). Maybe I look old.
I also agree that FOID card should work, if it has your birth date. A passport would also work. |

I played for nearly 6 months in the chicago area last yr. I have never gotten carded more in my life.....
It was terrible. Once I became a regular they would still get me from time to time. |

Re: ID Needed at East Chicago?
I play at Resorts frequently. I am 25 and I get carded about 2-5% of the time at the door. If you grow a little stubble, don't make eye contact with the security guards and walk straight through you should be fine.
But I don't think a FOID will work because it doesn't have your picture. If you can't play there, drive over to Majestic Star or wait 30 minutes and try to get through again. It'll probably work. Illinois casinos are another story. The one time I played blackjack in Elgin, they ran my license through a machine to check if it was legit and took my picture. |

Probably varies from state to state depending on the local gaming laws (at what point does the casino get in trouble for a minor's presence) and gaming commission vigor. Then again, aren't the East Chicago casinos in Indiana? |

I always remember seeing a sign that says if your under ~40, you will most likely be carded.
I am only 22, but look much older. Every time I enter a casino in illinois, I am carded at the door, and they also run my license in a machine and take a digital photo. Usually its a waste of 5-10 mins of my life. In IN, ive only been to resorts and MJII, but im also carded every time before I enter the casino. However only a security guard looks at my license. I also have a FOID card, it does have a picture. So I don't see why it wouldnt work in IN. |
