Opponents are probally forced to take more 3s when Nash is playing b/c they are playing from behind.

Opponents are probally forced to take more 3s when Nash is playing b/c they are playing from behind. [/ QUOTE ] Three point percentage is about the same with or without Nash. It's been alleged that Nash is a horrible defensive player. I've said he contributes positively to the Sun's defense (one of the better defenses in the league) because he moves his feet well, takes lots of charges, and is very smart about double teaming and where he is supposed to be positioned on the floor. This statistic, while not a large sample size, supports my contention. |

And BTW, despite the constant impugning of my reputation as a Sun's homer, I just moved to Arizona a couple years ago. I was grew up a JailBlazers homer, and I've never said Nash deserves any MVP or is better than Magic Johnson or John Stockton. I just think his defense is under-rated.
Any further slander may be met with a frightening e-mail from my lawyer, Mr. G. I. Normous Bottomely. |

[ QUOTE ] takes lots of charges [/ QUOTE ] Dude..we've been over this. You're making it up. [/ QUOTE ] I thought he was taking close to 2 a game, you pointed out year old statistics that showed he couldn't take that many, so I concede that specific point. Unfortunately I can't find a source of statistics on charges to prove it one way or another, but observationally he takes a lot of charges compared to the average point guard. But aside from nitpicking this minor point, can you explain why the Sun's FG % defense is better with Nash than without? |
