Post said early in online tournament, so I still think this is highly possible, especially from CO. Only 1 hand beats us, and if he's not a moron, he wouldn't have raised to 12.5 BB in an unopened pot with AA, because that would kill the action. Anyone who bets like that won't be around long. You need to get their chips before someone else does: this is the perfect opportunity.

I think we agree on the most important part here: That we extremely likely have the best hand, are delighted of this large raise, and the best way to get the rest of villains money is probably to just push. I think a very likely range for this raise is 88-QQ or possibly AK. BTW, I think villain folds close to never preflop after making this raise. |

i expect to lose to aces here a significant amount of the time [/ QUOTE ] I don't really think this is true. Villain is more likely foolishly trying to protect a medium/semi high pocket pair. |

Easy preflop shove. He's almost never folding, and has a wide variety of possible hands. Get it in very good against his range.

[/ QUOTE ] maybe me and you play different games, but when i see this, it is often someone trying to imitate a guy foolishly trying to protect 99. (trying to get a decent pot or no pot with AA rather than exposing himself to setfarmers for 80chips). but yes, something worse than KK is much more likely than AA. I would say AA is the single most common hand I'm up against, but in total, all the other hands outnumber it about 5:1. |
