HEY SOMEONE VOTED OTHER AND DID NOT SPECIFY. WTF O Doyle Rules - I have hope. The online poker soap opera has been so crazy-unpredictable up to now that anything can still happen in my eyes. (Non-US but obv the US market is important to online poker as a whole) This latest happening is hardly a smoking gun imo. But I feel your worry [/ QUOTE ] Hey sputum, I am a firm believer in it's not over until it's over and it's not over yet, but it is over as we used to know and love it. Disclaimer: My last statement applies to U.S. citizens only. |

If in 2004 you had posted the question: Who will be most responsible for the demise of online poker? with the same options (generic versions) it would have been fun to go back and look at it now

Re: Who is most responsible for the demise of online poker?
The fallout from the UIGE has been, and will be, huge for the US market.
Without the e-wallets, the fish (me) are not going to go to great lengths to fund their accounts. With only sharks in the tanks, the games are going to get unbearable tough for the average 2+2er. I suspect the Europeans will congregate where the US hudbots can't go. On the bright side, some players will, of necessity, learn to pay attention and get good at poker vs being a mechanical botlike player. They will then be able to transfer those skills to the B&Ms and do well. Tuff |

Why did you open an e-wallet? If you don't mind me asking, I'm assuming there were other ways to fund yourself? |

Re: Who is most responsible for the demise of online poker?
Last year, I would have guessed actual bots would be the demise. Maybe online poker was due to go through tough times regardless, eventually. Late 2005, I felt I had 2 years to make whatever I could before things would come to an end. At this point, I really wish I were right.
The only glimmer of hope here is World Poker Exchange finally catches on. |

Unfortunately, I am not a visionary. Hell, I can't even properly word a poll question for the masses here at 2 + 2. I still think people are still jumping on the first option because it is just too easy. Even non-US citizens could have enjoyed this poll if they substitute the word or phrase of their choice in the place of "demise". |

I blame Chris Moneymaker. Everything was fine until he came along.

Tony Why did you open an e-wallet? If you don't mind me asking, I'm assuming there were other ways to fund yourself? [/ QUOTE ] I have used Neteller from the very beginning. It was quite convenient. I could not fund any place with my CC. In a couple af cases when I tried, I get an immediate phone call from the issuing bank wanting to know why I was trying to send money to a gambling site. This included Neteller. Tony |
