Demise?
This story has a way to run yet.
EDIT: I voted Other. My specific reason was to look at the results. Hope this helps.
Oo double edit. Who is most responsible for the idea that online poker should be insanely profitable forever?

LOL at "demise". I wasnt around 2+2 when paypal stopped doing gambling transactions but I'm sure the attitude around here was probably the same then. Jesus, calm down people.

Did anyone here really think it was going to stay like it was in 2004-2005 forever? Is it because 2+2 never leaves their rooms and has never experienced adversity in their lives before?

Relax, have a beer and continue to play poker.

You are correct, the final chapter has yet to be written.

I had tried to edit my question realizing that it is not worded correctly and my grammar is bad.

Please let's not have knee-jerk reactions and just blame Bill & Co. (They are a target that is way to easy to pick.)

Another example of Americans thinking they are the world.

Yea, demise was a poor choice. Equate demise to one of the following: not as profitable, not as enjoyable, the beginning of the end or whatever you think would have been more appropriate to place in the poll question.

OK, OK! The poll question should have ended with "within the U.S."

Geesh! You guys are no fun and like to pick a fellow apart.

Maybe I should start another poll: Why is it no longer any fun to post and read stuff at 2 + 2?

HEY SOMEONE VOTED OTHER AND DID NOT SPECIFY. WTF
O Doyle Rules - I have hope. The online poker soap opera has been so crazy-unpredictable up to now that anything can still happen in my eyes. (Non-US but obv the US market is important to online poker as a whole)
This latest happening is hardly a smoking gun imo. But I feel your worry
